Learn How To Stop Stammering

Have you heard about the latest therapy for stammering? This is what is known as specialist stammering therapy. Why? The reason for this is because the speech coach is a person that has previously had a stammer.

Stephen Hill was just four years of age when he started to stammer. Despite attending the many different forms of speech and language therapy classes for many years the stammer continued to plague his life until he was aged twenty-two.

Mr Hill had a single life-time goal or ambition which was to some how achieve fluency. Despite being advised to accept the speech impediment that was ruining his life, Steve continued in his quest to find the “solution to stammering”.

Steve could and would not accept that there was not a cure for stammering. He truly believes that there is only one way that a person should think, positively.

At the age of twenty-two Mr Hill managed to achieve his goal of fluency after working extremely hard to formulate a set of “how to stop stammering techniques”.

He now teaches these techniques to other people who stutter and does this via a one-to-one stuttering help course. There are also a number of self-help stop stammering therapy options available for those people who are unable to attend a course; these include an audio-book, an e-book and a DVD.

Stuttering is clearly a problem that affects many people of all ages around the world. It is always worth spending to research in this situation.

Steve Hill not only offers a potential solution in many formats but also gives people the extra peace of mind of a free telephone consulation that can be booked at any time.

Steve:

“In the past I often dreamt about what life would be like as a fluent person. Now that I am able to speak free from the fear of stuttering I have to say that it feels even better than what I had imagined to be. I am now able to reach my full potentail in life”.

Advice For Children Who Stutter

February 27th, 2010

Do you have a stutter? Does one of your children have a stutter? Do you know somebody who has a stutter? This article is all about the speech impediment known as stuttering or stammering. It includes stuttering advice and also treatments which are available to help people who stutter to achieve fluency.

Stammering or stuttering is a much more widespread impediment that some people might imagine. Latest research suggests that as many as one percent of the population of the UK has a stuttering problem and that around eighty percent of these people are male.

I had a stutter for eighteen years. I have been informed that I started stuttering when I was only four years of age. I regularly attended speech therapy over the next fourteen years before deciding that it was unlikely to ever help me to achieve fluency.

Some people I have met have become extremely good at hiding their own stutter. They have stated that most of the people that they know are not even aware that they have a speech impediment. Some people may well think that it is some what easier for a person with this type of stutter – but this is not always the case. To keep up with hiding and avoiding the stutter is far from easy and takes a huge amount of energy. Life is tough no matter what form of stutter one has.

Other people are not able to hide their stutter in this way and will have what is perceived to be a much more severe stutter – I knew a person who worked for a composite door company who had this form of speech impediment; he did however manage to overcome the problem after attending a stammering cure course.

There are a number of treatments for stuttering including the normal route of speech therapy via the local doctor or hospital. A lot of the people who I have met become rather annoyed at the amount of time that they are asked to wait for this type of speech therapy and become even more annoyed when the therapy actually starts when they realise just how short each session is.

There is also private stop stammering treatments in the form of people who have managed to overcome their own stutter. This can be on a one-to-one basis or in a group situation.

Life Coaching Information And Advice

February 13th, 2010

I am a person who at many times in my life have felt down and depressed about various issues that I have had in my life such as the fact that I had a speech impediment, stuttering. I was desperate to find a way to stop stammering/stuttering and was more than happy to work hard to achieve fluency.

From reading life coaching and positive thinking books, I realised I had to become a far stronger person, more care-free and to have more respect for myself. The new me was a person that was only going to go to places that I wanted to – no more accepting second best for me. I was well aware that it would be tough to ensure that I kept up this new found attitude but I knew I had to give it my best shot.

Then came the first challenge to this new found attitude; it happened at my friend Ian’s house. He is a very successful business man; he sells cheap holidays for a living and can be quite an assertive person, he also works with a group of cost reduction specialists and has just sold a DVD duplication business. He and some of the other “boys” had organised an evening out for the following weekend. There were numerous reasons why I did not want to go out on that particular night. Eventually Ian asked if I wanted to go and I said that I didn’t.

That answer was not enough for him and he proceeded to question my reasons for not wanting to go. Call me paranoid if you like but it was like everyone was staring at me and I began to feel really weird. Normally in this situation I would give some excuse but instead I asked him why I needed to give a reason and why my answer of no was not enough for him. He seemed quite shocked at my strong response and moved on to question and nag someone else.

I am now a much more assertive person myself and I am pleased to report that I have now managed to overcome the stutter thanks mainly due to the expert therapy offered at the How To Stop Stammering Center in Birmingham.

The Stop Stuttering Center

October 19th, 2009
Comments Off

Do you have a stutter or stammer? Are you looking for techniques that would enable you to overcome your stutter? If you have answered “yes” to one or both of these questions then this article may well be of interest to you.

The How To Stop Stuttering Centre was established in 1996 by Steve Hill. Steve started to stutter when he was a young child however managed to achieve fluency at the age of twenty-two. Steve states:

“To achieve fluency is far from easy and anybody who is looking for some sort of magic potion or magic pill that they merely swallow to enable them to “stop stuttering” will be left disappointed. Those people however who are willing to work hard and who are determined to kill their stuttering demons will be able to achieve the dream that is fluency”.

Steve mainly helps people by running one-to-one speech courses. The courses are held in Birmingham, England. These specialist stuttering courses are held over a 2, 3 or 5 day period with each day lasting approximately three and a half hours.

Steve also offers alternative stuttering therapies to the speech course. These therapies are more what you would call “self-help stuttering therapy” and include an e-book, a DVD and an audio book. These products come with full descriptions of the “stuttering therapy techniques”.

Steve has helped people from many different nations including India, Pakistan, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, the USA and Australia.

Steve has appeared in a number of national newspapers including the Daily Telegraph and the Guardian.

It is suggested that out of all of the people that suffer with stuttering there are three times as many men as women that have this form of speech impediment. The stuttering centre in the UK helps all people to achieve fluency whether they are adults or children, women or men.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the stuttering centre.

Therapies For Stuttering And Stammering

October 16th, 2009

What are the most popular treatments for stuttering? Are you able to overcome a stutter and achieve fluency? How long does it take to eradicate a stutter? Are there any courses for stuttering? Where can I find out about the “stop stuttering techniques”? I will be answering these questions in this article.

I am Steve Hill and I am a speech coach from the UK. I am somebody who successfully managed to overcome his own stutter when I was aged twenty-two. I have now enjoyed fluency for the last thirteen years.

The main form of therapy that I offer comes in the form of a specialised speech course for stuttering. These courses are on a one-to-one basis, this is something which I believe is essential due to the fact that each and every person has a different type of speech impediment and should therefore be treated as an individual rather than “herded” into a group format. The courses are held in Birmingham, England and are held over a two, three or five day period.

The most popular form of therapy that I offer; however; happens to be the seventy minute stuttering cure DVD. The film includes full descriptions of each of the techniques that I teach on the courses.

People are also able to purchase an e-book and an audio book; all of these are what I call self-help stuttering treatment products.

Over the last few months I have introduced a couple of new stuttering therapy options; the first is fluency coaching over the telephone and the second is stuttering therapy via Skype. These are also starting to become quite popular.

The majority of the people who contact me; whether it be via e-mail, telephone or letter are from the United Kingdom however I do receive a lot of interest from the United States, India, Australia, Ireland, Pakistan, Norway and New Zealand. I have a blog at blog.stammering-stuttering.co.uk which has a map that shows people where the visitors to the site are located. This is something that is quite interesting to keep a track of from time to time.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me.
