If you want an early departing flight then you can book with Air France. It lives London at 06:40 and flies to South Africa via Paris De Gaulle. British Airways

British airways is possibly the cheapest flight to Johannesburg from Vancouver. The reason why I say “possibly” is because prices fluctuate regularly.

The flight departs Vancouver for London at 20.45hrs. It gets to the London Heathrow airport at 14:00 on the following day. You will have lots of time available on your hands as the connecting flight will only leave for Johannesburg at 17.50 hrs. This is going to be a 12 hour journey that will arrive in Johannesburg at 06.35 hrs.

Virgin Atlantic Airways

This flight leaves Vancouver at 18:05 and flies to London where it arrives at 11:45 the following day. Be ready to spend the whole afternoon in London where the next flight leaves for Johannesburg at 18:00. It will reach Johannesburg on day 3 at 07.05 hrs.

Lufthansa

This is an evening flight that is also quite chepa. It takes off from Vancouver at 15:40 and flies to Frankfurt. It gets there at 10:50 on the following day. Frankly you would have to book this flight if you are willing to spend a bit of time in Frankfurt as the next flight to Johannesburg is available at 22:35. It arrives in Johannesburg at 10:00 just in time to prepare for lunch.

South African Airways
