How marriage counseling can help

Divorce is one of the saddest things that happen in our society nowadays. And itdoes not just affect two people or the couple alone. It also involves their children as well. The sad thing about this is that it could have been avoided. It could have been prevented had the couple decided to go on a marriage counseling to seek help with their problems. So, let us go take a look at some of the benefits of marriage counseling.

First of all, counseling gives both parties a place and an environment where they can work out all their differences.Of course, the only time it will work is when both parties want to work it out.  I have seen couples in my marriage counselor San Diego practice who didn’t really want to work it out.In that case, there will never be a chance for a reconciliation.  But if both people do want to save their marriage, counseling can be of benefit.

Next marriage counseling will provide a nice environment for the couple.  What I mean by that, is it gives them a neutral location to air out their differences. That way, they would feel safe and relaxed. If they feel that they are in a comfortable environment then this will definitely help the process out.  This is a better alternative then working it out at home where there is constant fighting. So many couples come in for my marriage counseling San Diego service and they immediately are more civil in the office.

Finally a good therapist will help them communicate better. That is one of the keys to resolving their problem.I mean the communication. The most common problem of couples is that they have trouble communicating.  Most of the time instead of communicating they are really just yellling.Undergoing a good counseling, the couples will be taught by the counselor ways on how to communicate.  In my couples counseling San Diego practice I emphasize the need for communication.  It is one of the most important aspects of this whole process. And it could also be the key to saving this relationship and saving it from going into a divorce.

Situaions that may need marriage counseling

October 27th, 2009

In life and any type of relationship you will find conflict.  Of course there will be some worse than others. In a marriage relationship these fightng can cause some bad consequences. The toughest part is being able to know when is the right time to seek counsel. Because you don’t want to jump for a counselor from one argument.  But you need to know when it is needed. So what tells you when it will be needed?

That is a hard question.  As a San Diego marriage counselor helping people has allowed me to see who needs it.  Because there are times when maybe it wasn’t needed.  But the counseling sessions always prove beneficial regardless.  But a sign that shows me that a couple needs counseling is when there is no communication. If the couple still have fighting issues but are still making attempts to fix it, that is a good sign. But if the only communication taking place is when they are fighint, they need counsel. There is no communication there. And being able to communicate is a key factor is mending it.

Another tell tale sign is the coupel wanting to have nothing to do with the other person. It seems like that should be obvious but when the couple is having a hard time being with each other help is needed.  I have seen a lot of couples come to that point while helping in couples therapy San Diego. If hate is present that is not a good sign.  This can lead to more harmful effects in the relaltionship.

Finally another sign I have seen doing marriage counseling San Diego is when it starts effecting the whole family.  If there are kids involved and you can see the emotional effects it is causing that couple needs help.It is bad enough the fights, but as soon as the children start getting affected they need to seek counsel. They need to make an attempt to not allow the fighting to ruin your family. If it is doing that, counseling should be sought after.

Ways on finding a good marriage therapist

October 22nd, 2009

When experiencing marriage struggles, asking others for help is one of the toughest thing to do for a couple.  Namely, looking to a marriage counselor to help you.  But once you do get the courage to ask for help how do you choose a good one. That is a difficult question question to answer.  But when your marriage is on the line you want to answer it right.

So what makes a good marriage therapist?  In my marriage counselor San Diego service I try to answer that for all my clients. My answers depend on what they are looking for.The reason for this is because couples have to trust their therapist.Because if they do not trust the counselor then no solution will be arrived upon. But if they trust the counselor then it will be good for them. Without trust there will be no common goal or solution for both of the parties.

Another thing that I have learned helping with couples counseling San Diego is experience. Most couples that I have dealt with were looking for an experienced counselor. It just makes sense because an experienced counselor have seen different situations and can address most of the couple’s problems. And from those experiences can provide solutions that have worked before. Of course it makes it hard for newer therapists to try and gain it but it is what people look for.

Finally doing San Diego marriage counseling has allowed me to see that most couples want someone with the same values. In other words, there are different techniques in doing marriage therapy. But if the technique that is being taught to them is contrary to what they firmly believe in then it definitely will not work.So you should want to seek a counselor or therapist that has the same views as you. This will build a relationship that will work and help you out as couples.

These are some of the things that couples look for in finding a good counselor that will help them.Of course, it does not tackle everything that is needed but it will be a good guide in finding good marriage counselors. And in the end those are the things that struggling couples want.

How difficult it is to undergo marriage counseling

October 14th, 2009

Fighting or arguing is one of the unfortunate things that can happen in a marriage.I am sure that there has never been a couple that has never fought. What’s unfortunate is when those fights become bigger than it should be.It is just but human nature that couples will fight and argue sometimes. But what makes it unfortunate is when a couple’s differences separate and do not reconcile.

Dealing with couples as a San Diego marriage therapist has allowed me to see how difficult it is for some people to seek counseling.  There are those coupleswho don’t want anybody to know about the conflict.Or there are some people who are too proud to ask for help in fixing their relationship. And also, there are couples who do not believe that their situation can still be fixed. But if that is the case then that would be so sad.  Because with effective counseling most issues can be resolved.

But married couples are not the only ones qualified to see a couples conselor. Those in pre-marital relationships have problems and fights sometimes as well. But couples can let it go too far just like married coules.  I know because doing couples therapy San Diego has allowed me to see both ways. Those couples that has undergone counseling experienced a very good change in their relationship. While those that did not seek help saw their relationship gone kaput. Of course therapy is not the answer for all the problems but it can be a big help.

Why does couples counseling work?Because the one that would help you is a professional in this kind of thing.  This professional has had a lot of experience with all kinds of situations.Experience is a big help with this kind of a situation. With some very good advise some issues can be fixed. It can tell you where the differences with your spouse come from. Then it can provide a plan of action so that a couple can fix their relationship.  Time and time again doing San Diego marriage counseling has proven this to be true. The relationship is going to end anyway even if the counseling does not work. But if it works then it can save a relationship and that is wonderful.

Benefits of marriage counseling

October 8th, 2009

Whether counseling is helpful or not to a marriage is one of the concern of most couples. Whether it is with family problems.Or with a personal problem.Or in relationship problems. After all does anyone want their problems to be public. And you also have to spend money for it.

How counseling can help relationships is what we are going to look at in this article.  Best part of all this is coming from case study experiences in real life practice as a San Diego marriage therapist services.I hope that experiences as a counselor will be able to help you decide if marriage counseling is helpful to both of you or not.

But my counseling is not just limited to marriage counseling. There are also non-married couples who seek help. With that my couples therapy San Diego practice can also help them as well.

So if you think it can help you and your partner both of you must agree first on some things.First thing both of you should agree on is that both of you should want this counseling to work. If one of the parties involved does not really want this to work then no kind of counseling can help. But if you have two willing parties that wants this to work then it can really work.

Second you have to be open.  A good family counselor San Diego will be able to show both parties how to communicate better. They will be able to provide techniques that will help them do this.Because for you to resolve your differences you would have to be able to communicate.  If the couple is not open to learning how to communicate no amount of counseling will help.

Those are some things you have to look at when deciding on counseling.Counseling may be suited for the both of you if you can meet the criteria. But there would be no kind of counseling can help you if you can’t meet the criteria.
