Use Employee Satisfaction Survey To Improve Staff Morale

October 1st, 2009

Back in his day, everything was very command-and-control. The top dog let everyone know it, and the people on the bottom of the totem pole would do what they were told, and that was that. Nowadays, however, things have changed. It is a know fact that employees who are happy do better work and are more productive, so management can’t afford to beat them down.

He knew that I always deliver, so he agree to my proposal. After all, the customer satisfaction surveys have done wonders for our company, allowing us to really cater to our clients more effectively than we had before. It was fair to think that an employee satisfaction survey would do the same. Creating the right employee satisfaction surveys, wqhich is different from the free online surveys.

This however, was more tougher than I thought. You see, it is difficult to come up with just the right questions to ask. I wanted to let the old man know what concerns his underlings had, but I did not want to antagonize him. The fact is, he had no idea just how bad moral was at the time, and I didn’t want to break it to him all at once. That would only get him defensive, and then nothing would happen.

At last, I came up with the perfect employee satisfaction surveys. In a bigger business, employee satisfaction surveys will need many quantifiable questions. Since our office consisted of no more than 40 people, however, I was able to put in a lot of space for personal feedback. I was gambling that people wouldn’t be quite as critical in print as they would with questions meant to gauge their happiness, and I was right. By allowing employees to say what needed improvement most, I was able to provide some really meaningful feedback that was also sufficiently understated. While the boss grumbled alot, he also took the employment satisfaction surveys seriously. It has only been a few weeks, but corporate culture has already started to change.
